I wanna learn, but I don't have any money to pay for classes or anything like that. Maybe I could work out a trade of sorts. I'm in the bay area CA Anyone?

Thu, June 1, 2006 - 3:02 PMOh the bay area. Classes at Studio One in Oakland are pretty cheap; I'm not sure how much, as it's been a while. Right now, it's undergoing retrofit and I think they didn't get room for the kilns. (this is fusing and lampwork by the way) At some point a community college in Richmond was also offering classes.

Tue, June 6, 2006 - 11:42 AMIf you have time to volunteer, you could check out the Crucible. People who sign up for a certain number of volunteer hours get a discount on classes, and if you can intern (the next step up of volunteering) you can trade that for a class. The Crucible's in west Oakland (right near the West Oakland bart station) - they have a tribe here, & their website is thecrucible.org/ .
